Job Description:
The role involves assisting service users to maximise their independence with particular emphasis on personal care, domestic duties and companionship. Although experience is preferred it is not essential as training and support will be provided. You must be able to work independently, show initiative and be of a caring nature and a good communicator.

Salary:
£25k pro rata MAIN DUTIES
- To work with a staff team, service users and outside agencies to ensure that the service continues to meet the needs of individual service users.
- To participate in regular supervision and attend staff meetings.
- To ensure that accurate records are maintained at all times and that other reports are appropriately produced as required.
- To participate in training as required and ensure that acquired skills and knowledge are applied in the work place.
- To support service users in developing a range of relationships with other people.
- To assist service users in maintaining hygienic standards and observe Health and Safety to a high standard.
- To assist service users in preparing meals and beverages, shopping, laundry and any other aspects of daily domestic living.
- To assist service users in all aspects of personal care including where appropriate lifting, bathing, washing, dressing, toileting and all other intimate personal care needs dependent on the situation.
- To support/assist service users in maintaining links with the local community, activities of interest, attending appointments, obtaining medication and any other areas of need identified for them.
- To carry out duties as a key worker.
- To be aware of and support service users with their emotional, cultural, spiritual and practical needs.
- To act as designated responsible person as required and take part in awake night and sleep-in duties as required.
- To participate in the admissions process, assessments, reviews and the individual care planning system.
