Providing support and care

Learning disabilities

New Directions provide bespoke services for people who have low to complex needs that also may challenge the service. Whether it is within a person’s own home, a property we provide or accessing educational, social, cultural or spiritual activities you can be assured of the highest standards of support and encouragement.

Support packages focus on enabling service users to maximise their abilities and learn new skills whilst getting the most out of life.  We provide support from an hour to 24 hours a day to suite individual's needs.

We work with service users to develop their Person Centred Plans from the time we start our comprehensive assessment process.  This will establish the wishes of the service users and how they want to be supported in achieving their life goals.  The process involves liaising with family, social workers and others involved in the life of the individual.

Besides our staff being trained in the nationally recognised standards in care we enhance their training in learning disabilities with epilepsy, autism and challenging behaviour specialisms.

We provide:
Personal care
Companionship
Planning of activities
Support to day and educational centres
Support for holidays in the UK and abroad
General emotional support
Budgeting
Daily living skills
Supported housing
And much more
