Training programmes

Staff training/qualifications

All our team are trained to the highest standard not only in general care work but more specialist areas to enhance their effectiveness and skill base. We encourage staff to develop themselves by undertaking NVQs both level 2 and 3 and also to prepare themselves for more senior positions within the company.

All our staff are inducted in the organisations policies and procedures in addition to the common induction standards to ensure that we provide quality service user focused services.

All staff are trained to meet and exceed the requirements of the National Minimum Standard for Domiciliary Care services under the Health and Social Care Act 2008.

In addition to the minimum requirement our staff are trained in specialist areas based on their job role. The following are the specialist training that staff receive:

 Challenging behaviour
 Epilepsy
 Learning Disabilities Awareness
 Dementia
 Acquired brain injury
 British Sign Language

We currently have accreditation for some of our short courses and offer a range of bespoke in house courses benefiting from the Training Strategy Implementation Funding. These courses are delivered by trained and certified tutors and managers. Below are some examples of our short courses:

 Risk Assessment
 First Aid
 Food Hygiene
 Manual Handling
 Medication Awareness

The short courses cost £40 per delegate

We also carry out an introductory level course for people employ their own staff under the personalisation agenda, Personal Assistants and those new the health and social care sector. The Introduction to Health and Social Care course has invaluable information on the care sector and outcomes expected. The cost for this course is £100 per delegate.
